Have you seen these? Oh I’m so sad I missed them prior to Mother’s Day, but happy to have found them today! Stephanie Brubaker’s bloom gift toppers are such a simple idea with such a lovely result—and what fun to go collect all those flowers.

Stephanie uses basic kraft gift boxes, a little washi tape, and sprigs and stems of herbs and blooms from her yard and nearby. I’m thinking gifts for weddings, birthdays, baby showers—they’d all look great with flowers!

Make a DIY Breakfast-in-Bed Tray

DIY Breakfast-inBed Trays

I’ve often found myself on the lookout for the perfect breakfast-in-bed tray. Nothing’s ever seemed quite right—too small, too wobbly, too tiki hut. So when I spotted these DIY trays on Curbly it was a bit of a yes-of-course moment for me. The perfect breakfast-in-bed tray is the one you make yourself.

One idea comes from Martha Stewart and involves glue, fabric, and a baking sheet. Quite simple. (And just think of all the fabrics out there to choose from!) Or why not paint the thing? You could really go so many directions with this one.

DIY Serving Tray by Lovely Indeed

The other DIY from Lovely Indeed is a bit more involved but looks oh so nice. It involves a wooden wine box, gold metallic tape, and a carpenter husband. (And just think of all the colorful tapes you could use!) Visit the DIY links for instructions and more pics.

Will you be serving Mom breakfast in bed this Mother’s Day? Will you try one of these trays, perhaps with your own personal twist? Remember these free printables are the perfect finishing touch and if you’re looking for recipes don’t miss House & Hold’s drool-worthy breakfast board.

Buy It or DIY It: Dipped Gifts!

Dipped Wooden Utensils by House of Earnest

Dipped Wooden Utensils by House of Earnest

Lately dipping and dying isn’t confined to Easter eggs and Grateful Dead t-shirts. Nope, this trend is everywhere and I’m completely digging the dipping.

From fashion, to furniture, hair dos and kitchenware, a dipped pop of color plays up the original texture of each piece the paint touches—glass seems clearer, ceramics softer, metals more shiny, and woodgrain more beautiful.

As a DIY gift, adding your own dipped embellishment is a fun and relatively simple way to add a personal touch to your present. (Wink, nudge. Mom would love these!) I’ve rounded up some favorite tutorials to get you inspired and walk you through the steps to do it yourself.

If you’re not so inclined, leave the dipping to the pros. Included are some really wonderful options for you to buy and gift too. Enjoy!

The Ultimate Wrap for Every Occasion! Word Search Universal Wrapping Paper

Wordless Universal Word Search Wrapping Paper - With Love

While my dream home will always include a healthy gift wrap stash, if I had to stock it with just one wrap, it would most definitely be this one.

Created by Italian designers Fabio Milito and Francesca Guidotti, Wordless Wrap is a whimsical word search wrapping paper that has you covered for every occasion. The pair dreamt up the idea shortly after Christmas when they found themselves wrapping a birthday gift, with only holiday wrap on hand.

They were quite thorough, and quite clever, with their creation too. The underside of the wrap (the inside) includes the word search solutions so you can easily spot the 20 different greetings and occasions on the wrap. There’s everything from “Happy Birthday” to “I Miss You” to “It is not a tie”. (ha!)

The wrap ships from Italy and is sold in sheets. Stock up now so you’re prepared for every celebration the year brings!
