I love giving handmade gifts for the holidays, don’t you? This is one of my favorite gifts to give to neighbors, coworkers or a hostess of a holiday shindig. They will love it, I promise!

Dining out with a foodie is always an experience, but the fun shouldn’t stop at their preferred restaurant of choice. While some food lovers might know their way around a kitchen, others rely on the pros to satisfy their taste buds. Well, you’re in luck, because there are heaps of ways to spread the culinary cheer without gifting cooking essentials. Whether they’re always asking important questions when ordering, or photographing your meal before you can take a bite, here are 17 gifts fit for the finest foodies on your list!
The easiest idea? Something edible of course! “Food of the Month” clubs are pretty much the best thing ever, and I’m not sure why I haven’t invested in one of these delicious options before. Each month, your favorite food-loving friend will receive a special package filled with different BBQ, cheese and chocolate goodies, just to name a few. This gift will not stop giving…at least for a few months!
As we begin to brine our brilliantly basted turkeys, spoon splendid stuffings and gather gorgeous gourds for our centerpieces, how about a break from the fancy finer things? In fact, let’s do the opposite of that.
If you’re easily offended and/or have zero sense of humor, stop reading and get back to that pie crust. But if you love a good laugh and girls who tell it like it is, then I’ve got a treat for you.
Say hello to the unMartha’s of Texas, Krista, Sarah, and Nikki. They’re smart, funny, sarcastic, and they swear a lot. They’re the authors of Badder Homes & Gardens—”the bad girls guide to good housekeeping”—and they’re sharing their gifting wisdom and woes with us today. Nikki even threw in a little tutorial for you.

This week, more than any other all year, I find myself thinking about food. You too? Whether you’re prepping it or dreaming about it, there is nothing quite like Thanksgiving when it comes to home-cooking and recipes your family has loved for years.
To keep those familiar flavors and feelings around all year long are these prints by Old School Stationers—just waiting to be a hung in a warm kitchen filled with the smells of turkey, casseroles and pie.
I’ve been a fan of Brian Reed’s letterpress prints and cards since discovering his camping series around this time last year—I gave a couple to my Dad for his birthday.
The prints, block mounted on wood, have a wonderful texture and are beautifully finished. The In the Kitchen series consists of the four prints shown: Home Grown, Keep Canning, First Place Pie and Green Beans & Butter (yum!). If you don’t see the print or card you’re looking for in their Etsy shop, get in touch with Old School Stationers for the ones you want most!
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good chocolate chip cookie, but there’s also something really enjoyable about trying new flavor combinations and mixing sweet with savory.
For the sake of this post you could say that it’s the grown-up in me. But let’s not get too carried away with that kind of talk.
Lark Fine Foods artisan cookies have instilled some serious cravings for cookie flavors I’ve never tasted before.
Their ingredients are all natural and preservative free. Their cookies are award winning. And their business is run by a mother-daughter team in Essex Massachusetts. All the cookies are baked to order and neatly packaged, making them a delicious gift for foodies with a sweet tooth.
There are 8 flavors in their repertoire which creates quite the conundrum—which to try first?? I’ve narrowed my choice to the spicy chocolate Cha-Chas or the Salted Rosemary Shortbread. Decisions!

Chocolate! Yum! This collection is for that person in your life who sets their computer password to ‘chocolate’ just to remind themselves that they may not have had a piece since their last login. Regardless of whether chocolate infiltrates their tech security, most people are pleased to receive chocolate as a gift, in any of its incarnations. And for those non-chocoholics I’d say that’s a shame, but I’m happy to have your share.

This fun DIY gift makes use of one of the best food combos of all time: caramel sauce and apples. It’s where ooey gooey meets crisp and delicious… and they make sweet, sweet food babies that are the perfect accompaniment to fall and winter. SO, why not give the gift of caramel apple goodness to friends, neighbors, co-workers, or anyone who appreciates thoughtfully put together gifts? Sounds like a pretty great idea to me!
Kimberley Hasselbrink shares this awesome how-to over on Oh Happy Day and suggests pairing your kits with cute vintage butter knives for slicing up apples and spreading on the good stuff. With an assortment of toppings like chopped pistachios, bacon bits, coconut flakes, or even sea salt, you can make this kit as gourmet as you’d like! Is your mouth watering yet?? Head on over to Oh Happy Day for tips on how to put together your own perfectly delicious caramel apple kits!
psst… It’s Caramel Apple Day—what a great way to celebrate!
Show foodie friends how much you care (about their tastes and their friendship) by gifting them your own homemade vanilla extract. They’ll be impressed with your apparent alchemy skills and you’ll score some major brownie points as an awesome gift giver.
To make everything even more special, consider using a unique, cork-topped jar and/or printing custom labels (like the free printable labels above, by Style Me Pretty).
Wrap it up in a bow (or dip the cork in wax if you feel like getting super fancy) and you’re good to go. The best part about this DIY gift? It’s insanely easy. Check out how to make your own over on Simply Recipes!
Show of hands: who wouldn’t want to eat a cookie in their own likeness? That’s what I thought; it’s everyone’s secret dream! Whether you’re celebrating the boss’s birthday*, looking for a humorous gift for that “has everything” friend, or want a memorable (and much talked about) party favor, these cookie look-alikes are sure to be a hit. Parker’s Crazy Cookies offers custom cookies in the likeness of anyone–even dogs–making them the perfect gift for, well, anyone!
So let’s hear it, Wantists: who would you turn into a cookie?
* I would suggest avoiding a head-first biting strategy in this case… at least not if the boss is watching!

Cariann Burger is one cool chick. She’s got talent (of the super-creative kind), she’s genuine and sweet to everyone (that smile!) and she runs a company that empowers and celebrates the work of artists all over the world.
Cariann and her husband Paul are the founders of Cargoh, a marketplace of independent art and design—essentially a jackpot of wonderful things from an inspiring community of creative people.
Today she joins us for our very first Give & Tell. Thanks, Cariann!
Flowers from my husband, even though I tell him not to buy them, and his love notes.
When I first started dating my husband we lived in different countries. I would send him a meaningful gift weekly with a letter in it. The letters spelled a word, which was a clue to the surprise I had for him when we saw each other again.

I’ve been admirer of Komforte Chockolates' inventive flavors for some time now. Their Tortilla Lime + Salt and French Toast milk chocolate bars were the first to catch my eye. With combos that are adventurous and quirky, while at the same time approachable, they inspire heavy doses of, “I must try that!”
Among recent additions to their lineup is one that I simply can’t stop dreaming about—Apple Pie + Graham. Apples and cinnamon with bits of graham cracker mixed into creamy dreamy milk chocolate. Need I go on?
