Can you guess what this gift is wrapped in?

Can you guess what this gift is wrapped in?
It’s something you might find in your trash bin

Or tossed onto the kitchen table
Figure it out, if you are able

It won’t come in a roll or a sheet
It’s something reused, repurposed—so neat!

Wrapped up by Charissa—she’s clever
And known for her gift-wrapping endeavors

So give it your best in the comments
Get guessing! That’s it. No more hints.

(After a while if you still have no clue,
Of course I’ll share the link with you!)

Taped and Tied with Felt & Wire Supply

Angela Liguori Wrapping paper and Italian cotton ribbon

Have I made it clear how much I love paper goods and perfect packages? No? Well I do. And I will.

Case in point: when I found out Felt & Wire was adding a supplies section to their already wonderful collection, I was giddy, and let’s just say that’s a word I save for special moments.

Already known for their art prints, gift wrap and stationery, they recently introduced the stuff that really encourages a person to get crafty. Stuff like ribbon and tape and interesting collections of things to stick on paper and make it look like you’re super creative. Which you are. I’m not saying you’re not. Oh, just look!

Gift Packaging 101 with Joke + Sally

Packaging 101

I’ve been meaning to tell you about a fun workshop I attended this past Saturday. We’ll just call it Summer School—they do! I was pretty darn excited about it. You see, the teachers are these two talented Portland gals, Sally Shim and Joke Vande Gaer, who have a knack for making pretty heartfelt packages, turning simple gifts into beautiful gestures.

I’m so glad I went. 1) Because I hardly ever take the time to get crafty with things like glue, paint and stickers—it was so fun! 2) Because they shared sooo many great ideas. Which makes me curious, would you like to see more gift-packaging ideas here on the blog?

I’d hoped to get some great photos to share with you, but alas found myself too caught up with all the fun projects they had prepared for us. Instead I’ve put together this peek at some great ideas as shared on their blogs. Some of these are similar to those taught in the class. I love how they’re simple yet elegant, and not at all hard to do.
