Rustic, Wintery Wrapping Inspiration by Sunday Suppers

Holiday Packages by Sunday Suppers

Before we sign off and settle in with our families for some holiday fun, I wanted to share a few last bits of inspiration for this festive season that are making me smile, right this very minute.

There’s been a lot of love for the simplicity of kraft paper around here these last few months and these lovely rustic packages by Sunday Suppers epitomize every ounce of it. A simple mix of paper, pine, and twine. Don’t they make you want to run outside and gather some wintery bits to bring indoors? So cozy.

The first few cover the basics of wrapping a box. You’ll also learn creative ways to reuse materials already around your house and crafty DIYs with pom poms and potatoes.

For veteran wrappers, learn clever fixes for when your paper is too short, how to wrap a cookie tin and make it look beautiful, a dramatic way to wrap a wine bottle, and how to make glossy confetti-filled gift wrap.

These first two are simply to get you in the mood. They made me smile. I hope they do the same for you!

Falalala with Gift Wrap From Mr. Boddington’s

Wrapping Paper by Mr. Boddington's Studio

Wrapping Paper by Mr. Boddington’s Studio

If you haven’t started yet, it’s time to get wrapping!

Of all the paper in all the land Mr. Boddington’s has my heart this Christmas. Extra points for the chevron pattern? Well of course! What can I say, I love a happy zig-zag.

Their wrapping paper is sold by the sheet in mix and match sets of 5 or 10. That’s right you pick the ones you like most! My five pack would look something like this: 3 Red Chevrons, 1 Rudolph at The Disco, and 1 Big Johns Christmas Trees.

If Hanukkah is your holiday of choice this December, Mr. Boddington’s also makes an adorable hand-drawn paper for you too featuring matzos, Menorahs, and more!

And let’s not forget, a proper present needs a proper tag. More chevrons!

Cheeseburger Wrapping Paper

Gift Couture Cheeseburger Wrapping Paper
Do you choose a wrapping theme for the gifts under your tree?

What’ll it be this year? Traditional hues and symbols, like holly or ho ho hos? Something shiny? A monochromatic palette? Perhaps something wild like Summer's theme this year—kraft paper and neon!

Here’s a new one for you—cheeseburger. With all the fixings. Oh yes.

Gift Couture Cheeseburger Wrapping Paper

Okay, okay before you get too carried away dreaming about a mountain of paper patties and sesame seed buns under your tree this year, this all-American wrap isn’t available just yet.

Designed by Sarah Fay & Justin Colt of NY, this cheeseburger paper is the first creation in a new gift wrap line called Gift Couture. The project is currently being funded on Kickstarter and they’re less than $300 from their goal to get this tasty looking paper into production and in stores by February.

In addition to being an instant smile maker, this paper has another inherent feature your recipient will love—six gifts!

Our buddy Chris from ManMade created this clever typographic gift wrap using craft paper and an old book. If you’re hesitant to start hacking up tomes however, you could try magazines or newspapers for the same print effect. For a more colorful spin, I love the idea of using Chris’ downloadable alphabet templates with bright neon card stock or patterned scrapbook paper! Whatever you decide, gather up your dutiful brown craft paper and grab your trusty Xacto. Then head on over to ManMade for the full tutorial and free typeface downloads (there are 4 to choose from). Happy crafting!

Gift Wrap for World Travelers

Cavallini Bon Voyage Wrapping Paper

Bon Voyage Wrapping Paper

They’re off to see the world!

As their dear friend, you’re encouraging, excited for them, and can’t wait to see their photos riding the gondolas in Venice and up high at the ruins of Machu Picchu.

You’ve also picked out the perfect gift to send them on their way—a stylish Dopp Kit for her, TSA approved fine toiletry essentials for him, the ultimate travel wish book The, with a capital T, Travel Book by Lonely Planet, and the map of my dreams that never has to be folded, this Crumpled City Map.

Perhaps you even made them their very own leather passport holder. You’re such a good friend.

Now it’s time to wrap it up, and I’ve got the perfect wrapping paper for you. From their archives of vintage ephemera, these wraps from Cavallini & Co. in San Francisco are printed on Italian acid free paper and pretty enough to hang on the wall.

So now the hard part, deciding do you wrap with it or frame it? At only 3.95 a sheet, you can do both!
