Totem Stack for Your Kitchen and Your iPhone

Totem Stack iPhone Game

In keeping with their playful sensibility, imm Living has launched a game for your iPhone. What’s this you say? Who? What game?

Imm Living makes charming gifts and objects for the home. Things like these Stacking Totem Cups and these Hidden Animal Teacups. I told you they were charming.

The game, called Totem Stack (based on the bestselling cups), is simply their effort to have and share more fun. It’s cute and it’s sort of driving me crazy. Turns out stacking cups is a bit harder than it sounds.

Grab the game for your iPhone or iPod Touch at the App Store—it’s free!

8-bit Vinters

Wine and video games play together at 8-Bit Vintners

Press Start

We couldn’t help wanting to share Mike James’ story with you. When “Pick a box. Its contents will help you on your way,” is one of the quotes rotating in the masthead, yeah we pretty much feel right at home.

Whether you haven’t touched a controller since ‘94, or you’re a gamer that never misses an episode of CO-OP, you’ll appreciate the passion and determination Mike gives his quirky wine business.

8-Bit Vintners is an homage to simpler gaming days when managing a d-pad and two red buttons was all it took to play for hours. For Mike it’s about the good memories of his childhood days merged with a love for wine in his grown-up days.

After wrapping up his BA and not really knowing what he wanted to do, Mike got married, packed up and moved from Phoenix to the wine country in Walla Walla, Washington. There he studied wine for two years—an education that led him to starting 8-Bit Vintners.

A big day for Beatles fans: Remastered and Rock Band are here

Step right this way

Let no foul word be spoken of The Beatles today—9-9-09 we have been waiting for you.

As a second-generation Beatles fan who sat on the floor with Dad’s crate of LPs and Koss headphones, these four British icons, their music and influence have massive significance in my life. So can it if you’re meh about The Beatles—I love this day.

Rock Band

Play any one of the previous incarnations of the game and mention of a possible Beatles version will make you giddy.

For a game that’s a fair challenge in story mode and the life of the party when your friends get together, adding John, Paul, George and Ringo, their likeness, venues, instruments and three-part harmony into the mix is sure to be the best thing that happens to your living room this year.

If you haven’t seen the trailer, do and if it’s not on your wishlist yet, click.

Remastered

The Beatles, in stereo. Also released today, digitally re-mastered versions of the Beatles core catalog. After a four year process in Abbey Road Studios in London, everything from Please Please Me to Let It Be, with the addition of Past Masters, has been tweaked and fine-tuned to be better than they’ve ever been and all in stereo for the first time.

The albums are available individually or as a box set, packaged with the original UK album art, liner notes, rare photos and a short documentary about each album.

Each album is available for $13, the Stereo Box set is $180 and RockBand’s software and bundles range from $54 on up to $250.
