The Ultimate Wrap for Every Occasion! Word Search Universal Wrapping Paper

Wordless Universal Word Search Wrapping Paper - With Love

While my dream home will always include a healthy gift wrap stash, if I had to stock it with just one wrap, it would most definitely be this one.

Created by Italian designers Fabio Milito and Francesca Guidotti, Wordless Wrap is a whimsical word search wrapping paper that has you covered for every occasion. The pair dreamt up the idea shortly after Christmas when they found themselves wrapping a birthday gift, with only holiday wrap on hand.

They were quite thorough, and quite clever, with their creation too. The underside of the wrap (the inside) includes the word search solutions so you can easily spot the 20 different greetings and occasions on the wrap. There’s everything from “Happy Birthday” to “I Miss You” to “It is not a tie”. (ha!)

The wrap ships from Italy and is sold in sheets. Stock up now so you’re prepared for every celebration the year brings!

This year, don’t let the season overshadow their day! Celebrate your Capricorn on their birthday and make them feel special—even if their birthday is on December 25th.

Every now and then, you come across a gift idea so brilliant–and so brilliantly heartfelt–that it restores your faith in humanity. You may call that hyperbole, but I’m being totally serious. My heart swelled and I got all teary eyed after reading about this gift idea from Holly Burns. As a way to celebrate her dad’s 60th birthday, she gathered letters and nostalgic tales from all the people nearest and dearest to him. The result is a collection of 60 years of memories, a story of a life, woven together by events big and small. It’s a gift that will be cherished not only now, but for generations! I mean, how can you beat that?

While this idea originated as a birthday gift, I love the thought of adapting it for other significant events: wedding anniversaries, retirement, even Mother’s/Father’s Day! Do you have any other ideas on how to expound on or adapt this idea? Who would you give the gift of memories to? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Also, please, please, please go read Holly’s post–it’s beautifully written, full of photos, and is guaranteed to give you warm fuzzies.

An Ombre Happy Birthday, A Houndstooth Hello

Social Proper Houndstooth

I don’t have to tell you, you’re one of them; one of those wonderful people who takes the time to send a handwritten note now and again. So I don’t have to tell you either about how people like you are always looking for that essential set of cards you can keep in your stash that’s so nice, and just right, and practically compels you to pick up a pen when left out on the desk in front of you.

But I should definitely tell you, these are them. An ombre happy birthday, a houndstooth hello—they’re lovely, simple, sophisticated, perfect.

Inspired by Gene Kelly: Happy Birthday, Old Fave

Gift ideas inspired by Gene Kelly films

I grew up watching Gene Kelly movies. My mom would take my sister and I to the library to rent old musicals on VHS. (I know, old school.)

He was always our favorite. An effortless dancer. He sang too. And of course that smile! It didn’t hurt that my mother had done a stage show or two with him in the past and had wonderful stories to tell. That definitely added to our admiration of the classic screen star.

With a tip of the hat to the charming Irishman on his birthday (and boy could he wear a hat), here’s a few gifts inspired by some of my favorite Gene Kelly films.

1. Pelican Boots by Sperry Top-Sider
2. Woolrich John Rich & Bros. Heritage Officer Coat
3. The Sky Umbrella fends off rain with blue skies underneath!
4. Prints of Paris by fine art photographer Irene Suchocki
5. Renoir Straw Porkpie Hat
6. Lemon Ball Vintage Baseball
7. Ebbet’s Flanell vintage replica: 1940 Hollywood Stars Cap

Old movie images from imdb, and here, and here.
